San Francisco bakery burglarized in SoMa neighborhood, community contributes to recovery efforts

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A small business was broken into early Tuesday morning in San Francisco. Rize Up Bakery in the South of Market (SoMa) neighborhood was burglarized and resulted in thousands of dollars in damage, owner Azikiwee "Z" Anderson told KRON4. The burglary happened at the bakery on 1169 Howard St. where one of the employees arrived around 4 a.m. and saw the garage door wide open. The employee checked the area and let Anderson know someone had broken into the business. Anderson arrived at the business around 5 a.m., and San Francisco police arrived around 6 a.m. Revel to end shared electric moped service in San Francisco No one was hurt, but it became a matter of finding out what was stolen, Anderson said. Unfortunately, for food and safety reasons, Anderson had to throw away all the bread that was already made for the possibility of the bread being tampered with. San Francisco UN Plaza transforms into skateboarding park

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- City leaders are hoping that a brand new skateboarding park constructed in the middle of United Nations Plaza will transform the space into a positive place for recreation. Mayor London Breed and the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department unveiled and opened the skate park on Wednesday. "UN Plaza is at the heart of our Civic Center. I’m thrilled to see how we are bringing new life to this public space," Breed said. The 13,000-square-foot skating plaza, designed by local professional skateboarders and skate park advocates, is filled with elements from old iconic skate spots around the city, most of which no longer exist. City leaders proclaimed the plaza will be a "dynamic hub for recreation and community activities in the Civic Center neighborhood. $5 million warrant issued for Englewood murder suspect

DENVER (KDVR) -- The Englewood Police Department has named a suspect in the homicide investigation of 41-year-old Suany Melgar Almendarez, who was found dead in an alleyway on Sept. 11.According to the department, a "$5 million cash-only" warrant has been issued for the arrest of Jose Bustamante, 41.Police are warning citizens that Bustamante is considered armed and dangerous and should not be contacted by civilians. Bustamante is facing charges of first-degree murder and tampering with a deceased human body. If arrested, Bustamante will need to pay the automatically issued $5 million cash-only bond before law enforcement will release him.
