Make-A-Wish Southern Florida teamed up with Bottom Line Concepts to hold a Hawaiian-themed luau for a 17-year-old girl who is battling cancer.It was a Hawaiian Paradise at Quayside Towers in Northeast Miami-Dade for Hanna Rodriguez, Friday.The teen, who has has undergone three years of treatments for leukemia, enjoyed a luau with her friends and family.She said her biggest wish was to go to Hawaii, so Make-A-Wish and Bottom Line Concepts got together to plan this sendoff before she flies there next week.“I like to travel and, like, experience different cultures, and so, I’ve never been to Hawaii before and wanted to do it through Make-A-Wish,” she said. “I’m very grateful for the time and for making that wish come true.”Rodriguez is set to venture off to the beautiful, balmy beaches of Hawaii on Monday.

A South Florida couple got the ultimate surprise when they welcoming their daughter in their own home. Surprising, because the new mother says she didn’t even know she was pregnant.Speaking with 7News on Friday, Brooke Ruttenberg said that when she stirred out of sleep on Wednesday with cramps, she never expected she was about to be a mother again.Ruttenberg said she raced to the bathroom and was hit with intense stomach pains.“Then I felt this little thing right here poking out, and she came out,” she said.Ruttenberg’s boyfriend, Roberto Domenech, said he was already on the line with paramedics when he helped finish the surprise delivery.“I’m on the phone with dispatch, I’m telling them my girlfriend’s complaining about period pains, and she’s grabbing her stomach, her abdomen,” he said. “The next thing I say is, ‘Oh, my God, there’s a baby!'”Ruttenberg, who has another daughter, said she is still i...

The Mets promised better times ahead, but Friday night at Citi Field, the second-half Mets looked a lot like the first-half Mets.The Los Angeles Dodgers took the first game of a three-game series with a 6-0 win. Justin Verlander went only five innings. Five pitchers combined to walk nine hitters and the Mets’ bats went quiet against left-hander Julio Urias.Urias blanked the Mets (42-48) through six innings. DENVER — Aaron Judge took a step in the right direction on Friday, testing his right big toe with some on-field batting practice at Coors Field.Judge, who has been out since tearing a ligament in his toe on June 3, said he didn’t feel limited “at all” while swinging.
