Anna Shay, fan favorite on ‘Bling Empire,’ dead at 62

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Anna Shay, an heiress, philanthropist and breakout star of the Netflix reality series “Bling Empire,” has died at 62.Shay died from a stroke, according to a family statement provided to The Associated Press on Monday. It was not immediately clear when she died.“It saddens our hearts to announce that Anna Shay, a loving mother, grandmother, charismatic star, and our own brightest ray of sunshine, has passed away,” the family said. “Anna taught us many life lessons on how not to take life too seriously and to enjoy the finer things. Her impact on our lives will be forever missed but never forgotten.”Shay, a Los Angeles socialite, amassed a fortune after she and her brother sold their father’s company, Pacific Architects and Engineers, after his death. DALLAS (AP) — The bar from the television series “Cheers” sold for $675,000 at auction over the weekend, garnering the highest bid among the nearly 1,000 props, costumes and sets from classic TV shows offered up from a collection amassed by one man over more than three decades.Heritage Auctions said that the items sold during its three-day event that wrapped up Sunday in Dallas brought in over $5 million. CHICAGO — He's only been on the job for three weeks, but Chicagoans are already looking to Mayor Brandon Johnson for ways to solve the City's violence problem."Chicago has suffered a great deal of pain," Johnson said. "All of us have experienced that pain for a very long time in Chicago and it's one of the motivations that led me to this office."According to the Chicago Police Department's weekend crime statistics, at least 46 people were shot over the weekend, with at least nine of the victims dying from their wounds.The peak of the violence took place Sunday morning in Austin, where a mass shooting left one woman dead and at least six other victims in good-to-critical conditions."This is only the second weekend of summer in the city of Chicago," Alderman Ray Lopez said. CHICAGO -- The Chicago Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a missing teen who may be in need of medical attention.Angel Andrade-Tapia, 16, was last seen in the area of 62nd Street and Lawndale Avenue in Chicago's West Lawn neighborhood around 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 4. Missing 12-year-old girl last seen in Oakland, Chicago police say Andrade-Tapia was last seen wearing a green shirt, grey shorts, and red and black fila shoes. He is described as 5-foot-4, weighing 145 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.The missing 16-year-old may be in need of medical attention.Anyone with information regarding Angel Andrade-Tapia's whereabouts are asked to contact the Chicago Police Department at 312-747-8380.
