4 men hospitalized, 2 critically injured in LA shooting

Four men have been hospitalized, with at least two in critical condition, after being shot near downtown Los Angeles Saturday morning. Los Angeles police officers responded to the 1000 block of Ingraham outside the 1010 Wilshire Apartments just after 2:00 a.m. When authorities arrived on scene, they found four men suffering gunshot wounds. Detectives say there was an altercation between two groups of men who knew each other. At least one male suspect shot multiple rounds and then fled the scene in a white BMW with at least two other men.  Man shot in the face at Newport Pier The suspects are still at large and no arrests have been made. The four victims were transported to a nearby hospital. Two of the men are in stable condition, while the other two are in critical condition. It is unclear what led to the altercation. This story is developing. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the L.A. police department.

A man was injured following a shooting at the Newport Pier Friday night. Newport Beach Police responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon around 10:30 p.m. near McFadden Place and Oceanfront. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the cheek.  Residents warned not to swim in L.A. County beaches The suspect, described as an adult white male, is still at large and no arrests have been made. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and is currently in stable condition. It is unclear what led to the shooting. 

Wild Rivers Waterpark in Orange County celebrates KTLA Day as part of season opening

Former Yucaipa H.S. 'Teacher of the Year' accused of having sex with a student

A Yucaipa High School teacher has been arrested for allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old male student, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department announced.Tracy Vanderhulst, 38, was arrested on Thursday and booked into the county detention center on a charge of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. She was being held in lieu of $30,000 bail.Vanderhulst was named "Teacher of the Year" at Yucaipa H.S. in 2017. Oakland police make arrest in 2017 slaying of young mother

OAKLAND — Nearly six years after a 24-year-old woman was gunned down in West Oakland, police have arrested a suspect, court records show.Randall Keith Jackson, 40, has been arrested and charged with murdering Arlene Delores George, along with an enhancement alleging that Jackson personally shot her. The charges were filed last January, but Jackson was not arrested until late April, when police tracked him down in Portland, Oregon, according to court records.George was fatally shot around 7 a.m. on June 20, 2017. Man arrested for March homicide in Vallejo

VALLEJO, Calif. (KRON) – A man has been arrested in connection with a homicide that occurred back in March, according to the Vallejo Police Department. KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — The head of the Russian private army Wagner claimed Saturday that his forces have taken control of the city of Bakhmut after the longest and most grinding battle of the Russia-Ukraine war, but Ukrainian defense officials denied it.In a video posted on Telegram, Wagner head Yevgeny Prigozhin said the city came under complete Russian control at about midday Saturday. He spoke flanked by about half a dozen fighters, with ruined buildings in the background and explosions heard in the distance.However, after the video appeared, Ukrainian deputy defense minister Hanna Maliar said heavy fighting was continuing.“The situation is critical,” she said. “As of now, our defenders, control certain industrial and infrastructure facilities in this area.” Serhiy Cherevatyi, spokesman for Ukraine’s eastern command, told The Associated Press that Prigozhin’s claim “is not true.
