Stock market today: Asian markets sink, with Hong Kong down almost 3% on selling of property stocks BANGKOK (AP) — Asian markets declined Tuesday following a mixed session on Wall Street, where buying was pressured by rising bond yields. U.S. futures fell and oil prices also were lower. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng dropped more than 3% as investors unloaded property shares. However, China Evergrande was up nearly 16%, resuming trading after its shares were suspended last week as the troubled real estate developer announced that its chairman was under investigation. Earlier in the session it’s shares soared more than 60%.By midday, the Hang Seng was down 3% at 17,278.37. Markets in mainland China and South Korea remained closed for holidays. Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 index fell 1.7% to 31,231.37, while Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 skidded 1.3% to 6,943.40. Food waste per capita in the EU remained stable in 2021 In 2021, around 131 kilogrammes (kg) of food per inhabitant were wasted in the EU. In total, the EU produced 58.4 million tonnes of food waste, which includes edible and inedible parts. Among all economic groups, household waste accounted for most: 54% of the total amount of food waste, the equivalent of 70 kg per inhabitant. Woman has 'traumatic injuries' after being struck by Cruise car in SF SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A woman was sent to a hospital Monday night after she was struck by a Cruise car, the San Francisco Police Department confirmed to KRON4. Police said the victim was walking in the street when she was hit by the car at about 9:30 p.m. at 5th Street, just south of Market Street. SFPD officers rendered aid before the woman was hospitalized. The San Francisco Fire Department said the victim has "traumatic injuries."
