Dethroned? Burger King set to close hundreds of restaurants

(WHNT) — In a "whopper" of bad news for Burger King lovers, the fast-food burger chain announced that up to 400 of its locations will be closed by the end of the year.Joshua Kobza of Restaurant Brands International (RBI) Inc., which owns Burger King, confirmed the news to Today.com earlier this week, saying the plan is to close between 300 to 400 stores across the nation.The CEO added, amid the release of the company's first-quarter report, that hundreds of Burger King locations are closed every year. A 25-year-old motorcyclist from Ramsey was killed Thursday night after running a red light and crashing into a car in Coon Rapids, authorities said.The crash happened at the intersection of Round Lake Boulevard and Northdale Boulevard just before 8 p.m.According to the Anoka County sheriff’s office, witnesses said the man was headed south on Round Lake Boulevard on his 2019 Honda CBR600 when he entered the intersection against the red light and struck a 2006 Subaru Forester, which was headed west Northdale Boulevard.Witnesses found the man, who was wearing protective riding gear at the time of the crash, not breathing.
