A strong area of high pressure has been parked across the southeastern US all week long, bringing in a big breeze across South Florida, but some changes are ahead this weekend with a weaker wind set to return but also a higher chance for rain.At least for today and tomorrow, high pressure will remain in charge of our pattern. This will allow for mostly dry and windy conditions with gusts up to 30 mph along the coast paired with highs above average in the mid to upper 80s.Besides a quick-moving spotty shower, this period will be dry overall.Then by Sunday, an area of low pressure in the mid to upper levels of the atmosphere will approach from the east and will meader over the Bahamas. This feature will help steer in more moisture into South Florida.Therefore, on Sunday and Monday, scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible at times along with a decreasing wind and higher humidity. She’s in Miami to participate in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk this Saturday.Ridgeley herself is a breast cancer survivor, having faced her diagnosis in 2016 and undergoing a double mastectomy. Former Colombian soldier faces sentencing for plot to kill Haiti’s president

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (WSVN) — Former Colombian soldier and squad leader German Alejandro Rivera Garcia, known as “Colonel Mike,” will be sentenced, Friday. Rivera Garcia was extradited to the United States earlier this year and pleaded guilty last month to conspiring to commit murder or kidnapping and supporting resources resulting in the assassination of Haiti’s late President Jovenel Moïse in 2021.According to The Miami Herald, Rivera Garcia, who was part of the convoy that went to Moïse’s residence, entered his plea after being transferred from a Haitian prison. The charges against him involve conspiracy and supporting a plot to kill Moïse. He now faces the possibility of a life sentence.

Boston University Police issued an advisory after two students reported being sexually assaulted by a person riding a bike on Thursday night.The first incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Bay State Road, where a student reported they were approached on the sidewalk by a person on a bike who touched them inappropriately, according to the advisory. The suspect was described as a white male riding dark-colored bicycle who was wearing blue jeans and either a dark cap or a hooded sweatshirt.Then, around 11 p.m., a student on the Silber Footbridge to the Charles River Esplanade said they were approached by a person on a bike who touched them inappropriately. (AP) — Autopsies have confirmed that the two bodies found in a wooded area off a rural road in northern Vermont are those of two missing Massachusetts men who were shot to death, Vermont State Police said Thursday.Police found the bodies of 21-year-olds Jahim Solomon, of Pittsfield, and Eric White, of Chicopee, on Wednesday in a wooded area in Eden.
