CLEVELAND (AP) — Cleveland Browns starting left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. dodged a season-ending knee injury but will miss at least four weeks after being hurt in Sunday’s win over Arizona.The Browns already lost star running back Nick Chubb and right tackle Jack Conklin for the year with knee injuries and feared the same with Wills, who went down in the third quarter while blocking on a running play.However, coach Kevin Stefanski said Monday that Wills sustained only an MCL injury. He’ll go on the injured list and will have to miss four games.The earliest Wills could be back is Dec. 10 against Jacksonville.“Jed’s played some really strong games for us,” Stefanski said on a Zoom call. “I thought he was playing well in that last one yesterday as well. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Reliever Blake Treinen’s 2024 club option was exercised Monday by the Los Angeles Dodgers.The complicated option’s price appeared to be $1 million because of shoulder surgery he had last November.The 35-year-old right-hander has been limited to five major league innings since the start of the 2022 season as the result of shoulder issues that required the surgery, which involved the labrum and rotator cuff repair. Treinen began a minor league rehab assignment in August, but only threw 2 1/3 innings over three appearances.He first signed with the Dodgers in December 2019. 7 bystanders wounded in shooting at Texas college homecoming party, authorities say

HEMPSTEAD, Texas (AP) — Authorities outside of Houston were searching Monday for those responsible for a shooting at a large college homecoming party that left seven people wounded. Gunfire broke out around 10 p.m. Sunday at a Prairie View A&M University homecoming party near the school’s campus, about 50 miles (80 kilometers) northwest of downtown Houston, according to the Waller County Sheriff’s Office.Detectives arrived at the “trail ride pasture party” and found two men, two women and a male minor had been shot, the sheriff’s office said in a statement. They all suffered gunshot wounds “to their lower extremities” that appeared not to be life threatening, according to the statement.
