ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - St. Louis County will reconsider a plan to give senior-citizen homeowners a property tax break after rejecting it last month.Councilman Dennis Hancock from Fenton is expected to reintroduce the legislation at Tuesday night's meeting. He says some of the council members who voted "no" in the last session could have been swayed with a more pointed conversation. Four of the seven council members rejected the bill last month.

Colorado transportation officials have opened some lanes after a closure of westbound Interstate 70 near the Eisenhower Tunnel for safety reasons Tuesday morning after a truck crash that led to a fire in trees along the highway.Shortly after 7 a.m., the right lane of I-70 was closed between Exit 218 at Herman Gulch and Exit 216 at Loveland Pass, west of Silver Plume, according to Colorado Department of Transportation postings on X, the social media site formerly called Twitter.A truck rollover crash just east of the tunnel shortly after sunrise apparently sparked the fire, which spread into trees. A man seen in a TikTok video lurking near women in a Burbank bookstore earlier this month was arraigned in court on Monday. Glendale police arrested 37-year-old Calese Crowder on Friday for an unrelated incident in which he was suspected of peeping into a home. Calese Crowder, 37, is seen in an image provided by the Glendale Police Department. "The family, including children, were home at the time of the incident," the Glendale Police Department stated in a news release. During Monday's arraignment, Crowder was ordered to remain in jail for 60 days after he pleaded no contest to charges. He must also complete 52 weeks of sexual impulse classes. Woman severely injured by hit-and-run while on 'pocket bike' in South L.A., LAPD says

The Los Angeles Police Department is looking for a "box style" vehicle similar to a Kia Soul or Honda Element after a hit-and-run left a person severely injured in the Historic South-Central neighborhood of South Los Angeles early Sunday morning.At about 3:45 a.m. at 27th Street and Griffith Avenue, a woman riding a mini motorized "pocket bike" was hit by the vehicle, which also could be similar to a Scion xB or Nissan Cube, according to a press release from the LAPD.The woman was taken to a local hospital with severe but not life-threatening injuries.The LAPD released footage of the suspected vehicle, and they're asking for the public's help in finding the car and its driver. Some early birds don't get much sleep during the week with the expectation that they'll make it up during the weekend. However, a new study says waiting to catch up on zzzs doesn't work. They were only allowed to sleep five hours during the week and then 10 hours on the weekend. Researchers found that the extra hours had no impact on the participants' baseline levels of sleep. In fact, the study found the participants had higher heart rates, which could lead to more heart problems as they age.
