David Barajas Airlifted, Steven Mahoney Involved in Fatal Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 198 [Kings County, CA] 24-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Head-On Collision near 12th AvenueKINGS COUNTY, CA (December 5, 2023) – David Barajas and Steven Mahoney were involved in a deadly wrong-way collision on Highway 198, early Sunday morning.At approximately 2:00 a.m., law enforcement responded to an incident occurring in the eastbound lanes near 12th Avenue. The investigation is ongoing into why the driver of a Toyota Corolla was traveling in the wrong direction on the highway.The Toyota eventually collided with an eastbound Ford F-250, operated by Barajas, resulting in a collision with a Kia Soul driven by 63-year-old Mahoney.
