AUSTIN (KXAN) -- 'Tis the season to be merry, bright and stuffed with delicious food! Whether you don't celebrate Christmas or you're looking for a nice holiday meal out, here's a look at some of the Austin restaurants that'll be open on Christmas Eve and/or Christmas Day.Carve American GrilleCarve will offer a three-course prix fixe menu on Dec. 24 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Curbside pickup services are available from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., with meals costing $69 per person. For dine-in services, guests who dine at 5:30 p.m. or earlier will pay $69 per person, while those dining at 5:45 p.m. and later are charged $79 a piece.The three-course meal includes the choice of a soup or salad, entrée and dessert. Suspect shot and killed after firing shots outside O'Fallon City Hall

O'FALLON, Mo. - An investigation is still unfolding Monday morning after police in O'Fallon, Missouri, shot and killed a suspect. It all started with shots being fired just outside O'Fallon City Hall.Authorities have not released a lot of information about what happened in this case. We do know that this all began late Sunday afternoon with the suspect firing shots at the clock tower just feet from O'Fallon City Hall. It appears that there is damage to three of the four sides of the clock.A resident who lives near City Hall told FOX 2 that they heard gunshots in the area late Sunday afternoon. Police said that they don't know why the individual was firing shots at the clock tower. Police find man dead inside car on I-55 SB

ST. LOUIS - Officers found a man shot and killed Sunday afternoon in south St. Louis.Police responded to Interstate 55 near South 7th Street to help an unconscious driver. Upon their arrival, they found a man shot to death inside the vehicle. Another death reported at St. Louis City Justice Center So far, no further information has been revealed. Heavy police presence for possible East St. Louis shooting

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. - Several police crews are investigating a possible shooting in East St. Louis early Monday morning. Our Nissan Rogue Runner reporter, Nic Lopez, captured footage of the scene located on the 1100 block of North 13th Street, where East St. Louis, Fairmont City, and Illinois State Police are cruising around the area searching for further information. Mayor Tishaura Jones helping develop regional crime strategy today

LOUIS - Mayor Tishaura Jones will join other Missouri officials, law enforcement, business owners, and violence reduction experts to develop a regional crime strategy Monday.Jones says while the city of St. Louis has had a 20% decrease in homicides this year, more needs to be done. MetroLink starting new operating plan today

ST. LOUIS - MetroLink will start a new operating plan starting Monday. It comes after a pilot program launched this October that evaluated the benefits of single-car MetroLink service.Under the new operating plan, two-car trains will be in service on the red and blue lines, Monday through Friday, until 8:00 p.m. After that, customers will need to board the front train car. On weekends, MetroLink will operate single-car trains all day long. Bi-state Development CEO Taulby Roach says the changes will balance both "space and security" on trains.

Trial set for East Bay siblings linked to 2021 killing of Carmel woman

A Solano County Superior Court judge scheduled an August trial date for a brother and sister charged in connection to the late-October 2021 killing of a 19-year-old Carmel woman in Fairfield.During a Friday morning trial-setting hearing, Judge William J. Pendergast ordered Jessica Yesenia Quintanilla, and Marco Antonio Quintanilla, 29, both of Pittsburg, to return to Department 11 at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 5 in the Justice Building in Fairfield.The judge also scheduled some pretrial matters, including a readiness conference at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 16 and a trial management conference at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 1.Deputy District Attorney Ilana Shapiro leads the prosecution.Jessica Quintanilla, 23, is represented by San Francisco-based attorney William Alan Welch. Caltrans identifies 15 potentially dangerous properties beneath I-10 Freeway

A preliminary review of a program that rents space around and beneath California’s freeways has identified 38 sites that could threaten public infrastructure, including 15 below the 10 Freeway in Los Angeles where a destructive pallet fire at one such property  shut down one of the busiest thoroughfares in the country in early November.Caltrans identified the risky sites based on the “results of recent inspections and characteristics of the site, including nature of known uses and proximity to critical infrastructure,” according to a memo from CalSTA Secretary Toks Omishakin to Gov. Gavin Newsom.Newsom ordered Caltrans to complete a comprehensive review and assessment of the 601 “airspaces” leased by the state in response to last month’s fire. Family’s pet ‘wolf-hybrid’ kills 3-month-old baby

 A 3-month-old baby in Alabama died after being bitten by a “wolf-hybrid” kept as the family’s pet, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.Around 12:54 p.m. on Thursday, sheriff’s deputies, firefighters and county animal control officers responded to a 911 call about an apparent animal attack involving an infant at a home in Chelsea, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.The infant was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead due to injuries suspected to have been caused by the animal, the release said.A wolf-hybrid is a term for a canine with mixed wolf and dog ancestry.
