Trio of forwards remain in San Jose Sharks organization after being waived Forwards Oskar Lindblom, Ryan Carpenter, and Jacob Peterson all cleared NHL waivers Saturday and will now report to the San Jose Barracuda, the Sharks’ AHL affiliate.Lindblom, Carpenter, and Peterson were all waived by the Sharks on Friday, giving other NHL teams an opportunity to put in a claim for one or more of them and potentially add them to their rosters. With the 31 other NHL teams now passing, the trio now joins a Barracuda team that opens its regular season next Friday at home against the Rockford IceHogs. The Barracuda also plays an exhibition game against the Bakersfield Condors tonight, but Lindblom, Carpenter, and Peterson will not play.If nothing else, by having all three remain in San Jose, the Sharks now enjoy some greater organizational depth up front should injuries begin to affect the NHL club.Of the three forwards, Peterson might have been the likeliest to get claimed because of his production last season and relatively inexpensive salary cap hit.Peterson, 24, was...

But a sloppy, second-rate performance was exploited by a fired-up Manu Samoa, who pulled out one more final trick to almost complete a shock win.Wing Neria Foma’i was freed by fullback Duncan Paia’aua and was flying toward the tryline. He was eight meters from history when he was brought down from behind by England’s oldest back, replacement scrumhalf Danny Care. Kyle Busch internalizes his driving style as he faces elimination from NASCAR playoffs CONCORD, N.C. (AP) — Another crash has Kyle Busch last in the playoff standings and in danger of elimination Sunday on The Roval at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Busch doesn’t need a win to guarantee he advances into the round of eight, but it’s his only guaranteed path. Four drivers will be cut after the race on the hybrid road course/oval, and, short of a victory, Busch will need significant help from other playoff drivers to advance. He will start fifth Sunday but he’s below the cutline in 12th in the standings. He trails Tyler Reddick, Bubba Wallace and Ross Chastain. Reddick, at ninth in the standings, won the pole in Saturday qualifying and trails Brad Keselowski by just two points for the eighth and final spot. William Byron and Ryan Blaney have both already advanced based on wins in the first two races of the round of 12. After crashing in the opening race of this round at Texas, Busch said he had to “fix” his driving style to better adapt to NASCAR’s sec...
