Airbus, Canadian-based Vault 44.01 open new offices in downtown Denver

In downtown Denver, where many office buildings remain only partially used because of remote and hybrid work routines, Airbus and a Canadian natural resources company have opened up shop.Airbus U.S Space and Defense recently opened an office on 17th Street between Curtis and Arapahoe streets, spokesman Jonathan Murphy said in an email.Vault 44.01, based in Calgary, Alberta, has leased an 8,000-square-foot space at 1125 17th St. in a 494,689-square-foot office tower. Students at the Charles Burrell Visual & Performing Arts Campus held a birthday celebration for Charles Burrell, the school’s namesake, in Aurora on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023. Burrell, who turned 103 years old on Wednesday, is a bass player who broke the color barrier as a classical musician. According to the school’s website, Burrell was the first person of color to sign a contract with a symphony orchestra.

Funeral services for slain Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer will be held Thursday in downtown L.A.Clinkunbroomer, 30, was fatally shot on Sept. 16 outside the Palmdale Sheriff's Station when a gunman pulled up alongside his vehicle and opened fire, killing the eight-year veteran of the sheriff’s department.Services are scheduled to be held at 9:30 a.m. at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels at 555 West Temple Street. Two Powerball tickets worth over $1 million sold in California

The drawing for the $1.2 billion Powerball jackpot happened Wednesday night, and while no California players won the whole thing, a couple of players won a pretty good consolation prize. A ticket worth $1,220,123 was sold at Cigarettes 4 Discount at 973 Alamo Drive in Vacaville, according to the California Lottery website. That player had all five winning numbers, but not the Powerball number. Another ticket worth the same amount was sold at the Walmart at 8465 Elk Grove Blvd. in Elk Grove. 20,000 Kaiser healthcare workers on strike in the Bay Area Fourteen players got four correct numbers and the Powerball number.
