Jordan Peterson coming to Proctors Theatre in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Psychologist, author, and commentator Jordan Peterson will be coming to Proctors Theatre in 2024 as part of his "We Who Wrestle With God Tour." He will perform on February 6, 2024, at 7:30 p.m., with tickets for the show going on sale to the general public Friday online at 10 a.m. Get the latest news, weather, sports and more delivered right to your inbox! Peterson is the author of three books titled "12 Rules for Life," "Maps of Meaning," and "Beyond Order." The Edmonton, Canada, native is the host of the Jordan B Peterson podcast and will launch his online education platform, petersonacademy.com, in early 2024. He has taught courses at Harvard and the University of Toronto.

St. Louis County Council approves budget cuts

Feds take 1st step toward requiring new vehicles to prevent drunk driving

DETROIT (AP) — U.S. auto safety regulators say they have taken the first step toward requiring devices in vehicles that prevent drunk or impaired driving.The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced on Tuesday that it is starting the process to put a new federal safety standard in place requiring the technology in all new passenger vehicles.Such devices were required in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that was passed by Congress in 2021. 5 hospitalized after crash between train and semi-truck The agency says an advance notice of proposed rule making will help it gather information about the state of technology to detect impaired driving. Deadly Southern California wildfire triggered by sagging electrical line, Cal Fire report says

A Cal Fire investigatory report released this week confirmed that a sagging Southern California Edison electrical line came in contact with a communications cable, creating an arc that ignited the deadly Fairview fire near Hemet in 2022.The report was provided in response to a subpoena from the attorneys for some of the victims of the fire who have sued Edison, claiming negligence by the public utility was responsible for the 28,000-acre fire that destroyed 22 homes and damaged five others, killed two people and injured several others.Firefighters coordinate efforts at a burning property while battling the Fairview fire near Hemet on Sept. 5, 2022.
