The Bisons got out to a 1-0 lead in the first period, before Nathan Verloop and Griffin McCulloch scored to put the Copperheads up 2-0 after 20. McCulloch added an assist on the Verloop goal, as Peyton Twigg, Brandon Creighton and Nolan Price had the other helpers.Caden Heins made it 3-1 with a powerplay goal assisted by Verloop and Bill Hounengnon, as Coaldale led by two after 40.An Okotoks powerplay goal in the third made it 3-2 but Price restored the two-goal lead later in the period, as Hounengnon and Brogan Booth drew assists.Nixon Ordway made 33 saves for the win, as Okotoks held a 35-24 advantage on the shot clock. Does she ever look around to see what benefit the smoke stacks of pollution  do to the environment? “NO,” all she desires is to produce oil and gas to make millions of dollars. Man accused of shooting at motorist pleads not guilty

By Delon ShurtzSouthern Alberta NewspapersA Lethbridge man who has pleaded not guilty to four criminal offences, will enter pleas to 10 more charges and schedule trial dates when his matters return to Lethbridge court of justice.Danial Mark Ferguson pleaded not guilty Nov. 27 to charges of resisting a peace officer, causing a disturbance by screaming, uttering threats to cause death and failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking, and the matters were adjourned to Nov. 29 to schedule dates for two trials. Ferguson was also expected to plead not guilty on Nov. 29 to charges of pointing a firearm, discharging a firearm with intent, mischief causing damage, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, dangerous driving, failure to comply with conditions of an undertaking, and assault. Coalhurst collision claims life of Stand Off woman

Southern Alberta NewspapersA 31-year-old woman from Stand Off was struck and killed on Highway 3 in a collision early Saturday morning which saw traffic detours impact a major access point to Lethbridge.According to RCMP, a woman from Stand Off was a pedestrian who was struck by a passing car while she was walking along the highway between Range Road 224 and Township Road 92 near Coalhurst.Police were called to the scene at roughly 5:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.While the collision was under investigation, police closed the westbound lanes of Highway 3 between Lethbridge and Coalhurst and the northbound lanes along Westside Drive at the city limits.Traffic had originally been detoured along Highway 3 to northbound Highway 25 junction through Coalhurst. The detours were lifted shortly before 11 a.m. on Saturday.The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but RCMP say driver impairment doesn’t appear to be a factor.

Old Forge hosting 47th annual 'Snodeo'

OLD FORGE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Old Forge Camping Resort will be commemorating the start of the 2023-2024 snowmobile season by presenting their 47th annual "Snodeo". The event will be hosted at the George T. Hiltebrant Recreation Center Pavillion and will be held from December 8 through December 10. Saint Rose students protest college closure, demand answers The weekend will feature a vintage snowmobile show and displays of new models by manufacturers Arctic Cat, Ski-Doo, Polaris and Yamaha. The event will also offer several raffles as well as food and drink vendors. The Snodeo will run from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m on Sunday. The grand prize raffle is set to be drawn on Sunday at 1 p.m. Hundreds usher in the holiday season at the NYS Tree Lighting Ceremony The George T. Hiltebrant Recreation Center is located at 201 North Street in Old Forge. The event is free to attend and open to the public.

The school changed its name to Roots Academy on July 1. Saint Rose students protest college closure, demand answers The name change came after a committee of students, staff, community members, a city historian, and representatives from the Young Abolitionist Leadership Institute of the Underground Railroad Education Center and the Black Child Development Institute worked for months to make the change.

LOUIS COUNTY – The St. Louis County Park’s Forestry Division will conduct a controlled burn at Queeny Park today at 11 a.m.The controlled burn is scheduled at 550 Weidman Road on December 12, and Jason Pratte, the St. Louis County Parks Forestry Manager, will be at the location and available to answer questions.There will be a fire briefing at 11 a.m. to go over plans for the controlled burn and safety precautions, with the burn to follow.The smoke from the controlled burn at Queeny Park may affect the Greensfelder Recreation Complex and the Tails & Trails Dog Park. Tuberculosis cases rise in Colorado, making elimination goal less likely

In December 2016, the state health department published a plan to eliminate tuberculosis in Colorado within a decade. Seven years later, the disease is making a comeback, though it’s not clear if that’s a temporary aftershock of the pandemic or a longer-term problem.The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment reported 84 people were diagnosed with tuberculosis so far this year, which is higher than the pre-pandemic average of about 70 cases per year.
