NEW YORK (AP) — Longtime CNN host Don Lemon is out at the cable news network a little over two months after apologizing to viewers for on-air comments about Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley, CNN announced Monday“CNN and Don have parted ways,” CNN chair Chris Licht said in a memo to staff that was also posted on the network’s communications Twitter account. “Don will forever be a part of the CNN family, and we thank him for his contributions over the past 17 years. We wish him well and will be cheering him on in his future endeavors.”CNN did not provide a public explanation for Lemon’s departure. Crews put out house fire in Hollywood

Crews worked to put out a fire at a South Florida home.Hollywood Fire Rescue responded to a reported house fire at 2539 Wiley Street, Monday afternoon. 7Skyforce hovered over the scene where smoke was seen coming from the front and rear of the home. Residents in the community called 911 to report a house next door that was on fire. One person came out of the home without a shirt and had blood on their head and hands. Disney starts 2nd round of layoffs across parks, ESPN

The Walt Disney Co. will be laying off several thousand employees this week, a second round of cuts that’s part of a previously announced plan to eliminate 7,000 jobs this year.The latest employee releases will take place Monday through Thursday, according to Disney officials. The company will have reached approximately 4,000 job cuts when factoring in both the first and second rounds of layoffs.The job eliminations are taking place across various business segments, including entertainment, ESPN, parks, experiences and products. The cuts are also occurring in various locations, including Burbank, California, New York and Connecticut. Police in Lawrence are investigating an overnight shooting at a nightclub that left one man wounded, while another victim appeared at a hospital soon afterwards.Lawrence Police Detective Thomas M. CHP shooting prompts freeway closure on I-805

SAN DIEGO — All lanes of northbound Interstate 805 south of Imperial Avenue were closed Monday following a shooting involving a California Highway Patrol officer.The closure began around 8 a.m. and drivers are being detoured to the Imperial Avenue off-ramp, according to Caltrans.Lt. Adam Sharki with the San Diego Police Department confirmed to FOX 5 shortly before 9 a.m. that the police activity was prompted after a CHP officer was involved in a shooting.The CHP officer was not injured in the shooting, Sharki said. 2 hospitalized after City Heights shooting Traffic on northbound I-805 was backed up past State Route 54 due to the closure, causing heavy delays for Monday morning commuters.Police were not immediately able to confirm the circumstances that led to the shooting or the status of anyone else involved in the incident.The freeway closure is expected to last for several hours as CHP investigates the incident.Check back for updates to this developing story.
