APD identifies victim in gas station homicide, still searching for suspect

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Austin Police Department identified the victim in the Airport Boulevard gas station homicide Sunday and is also asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect, APD said in a news release Wednesday.Shortly after 9 p.m., July 16, officers responded to reports of a shooting at the Valero gas station, 1135 Airport Blvd, the release said.APD also released video of the shooting on its YouTube page. The video shows a man firing a gun inside the store and running into the parking lot. APD investigating homicide on Airport Boulevard When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man, Tijarious White, 19, with gunshot wounds, according to police. Austin moves to #1 for hottest July on record

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The first 19 days of the month have now tied for the hottest July on record to date, matching the day and night temperature average from July, 2022.For the fourth consecutive day Wednesday, Austin tied or broke a daily record high, reaching 106° which ties the record set just last year. Austin also set an all-time record for number of consecutive days with highs of 105°+. AUSTIN (KXAN) — As the deadline for Major League Baseball teams to sign their draft picks draws closer, a couple of Texas Longhorns are ready to get their professional careers started.Left-handed pitcher Lucas Gordon and right-handed pitcher Travis Sthele have agreed to terms with the teams that drafted them. Decision to expand St. Paul downtown improvement district is postponed

The St. Paul City Council on Wednesday postponed a decision about expanding an improvement district to include a portion of West Seventh Street.Since 2020, the improvement service district has stretched across much of downtown, up to but not including Lowertown. A judge sentenced a St. Paul man Wednesday to 19 years in prison for killing a 33-year-old man during a marijuana deal in the Dayton’s Bluff neighborhood.Kemarri Miller Roan, 19, reached a plea agreement with the prosecution in May, admitting he shot Michael Alexander Pleasants in the back of the head in the 200 block of Bates Avenue in April 2022.Kemarri Miller Roan (Courtesy of the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office)Roan’s co-defendant, Traivon Dennis Campbell, 22, of St. Paul, pleaded guilty in January to second-degree unintentional murder. Rotterdam man charged with murder in deaths of mother, stepfather

ROTTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Rotterdam man is facing charges as part of a double homicide investigation. An arrest warrant has been issued for Anthony Lewis.Lewis was charged with Murder in the First Degree. Police said the 31-year old killed Cathy and Robert Guillaume at their Fern Avenue home in the town of Rotterdam. The victims are Lewis's mother and stepfather. Police said Lewis has been in custody at the Carbon County Jail in Pennsylvania on unrelated charges since July 7. ST. LOUIS - How a person of interest who was in handcuffs managed to escape from St. Louis City police officers remains a mystery. However, investigators said that person is no longer wanted for questioning in connection to the murder of a gas station clerk.The family of 22-year-old Iyez Ahmed is grieving after he was shot and killed while working at the BP gas station in west St. Louis early Monday morning."He was innocent, and I hope they catch whoever did that and killed him.
